A great place for a family get together. All the family had a great time. Particularly loved the large table where we sat to have our meals including our Burns supper! GA

The house and grounds were truly splendid. If you are looking for a grand location for family and friends then you need look no further. The house and grounds allow you to slip back to a bygone time where friends and family can explore and relax. The feel of the house is welcoming with a variety of rooms to entertain in suitable for everything from your dogs to the grandest house guest. Children will enjoy the many floors and staircases and, if like mine, will most likely disappear for the majority of your visit. The garden that circles the house is a wonderful play area and the arboretum and lake beyond are of interest to all. Slightly further up the hill the views to the Moray Firth are spectacular. I cannot recommend the house or the service from the owners highly enough. I look forward to returning soon. RC

Wonderful Country Home in Speyside. We rented the beautiful family home for a long special event weekend. The house is a family home with a lot of local history which we learned from Polly and Hamish (owners). They were very accommodating and fun to talk to. The house had everything we needed for causal and formal dinners, dance hall for Scottish musicians and dancing, and great space for socializing. We loved the time we spent at the Burgie House. The grounds are amazing — Arboretum is a must see along with castle ruins from 1500’s. Close to Forres and Elgin. Private, but easy to get to local scotch distilleries and attractions. We had a wonderful weekend. RP. Seattle, USA

Amazing House, there is no place better than Burgie House to spend your vacations in north Scotland with its lovely bedrooms, halls, fireplaces, and the huge and spectacular gala. It’s a very cosy and pleasing to spend some summer with your friends or family.

Great stay at the Burgie House! We had a great stay at the Burgie House. The house is nicely located. The house itself is big, clean and cosy. The nice fireplaces kept us warm at night, together with the Scottish Whisky.

Very spacy castle with more than enough rooms for a party of 8, well equipped kitchen and beautiful surrounding. Coming home by driving through the rhododendron alley is more than impressive.

THANK YOU so much for an AMAZING weekend. We had a big 30th birthday weekend, with a brilliant haggis dinner and Ceilidh dancing after and it was just all so wonderful. The house has everything we needed and the grounds are so beautiful we spent one day down by the lake which was so nice. Thank you again!

The house was exactly what I had hoped it would be. We visited on a cold weekend in February, but the place heated up quickly, especially when we lit the open fires. Polly’s assistance in booking a ceilidh band and caterer was much appreciated, as was her patience in answering questions. All in all, an experience to be remembered.
‘We enjoyed the house and the surrounding. Everybody was happy and enjoyed the stay. The house provided great opportunities for our group, e.g. long walkings on the estate, reading, dancing etc. The house offers a very private and cosy atmosphere.’
‘We celebrated my 70th birthday with a family gathering with sisters, children, grandchildren and in-laws from as far away as the Isle of Wight and we all had a marvellous week. We had a ceilidh with the Colin Donaldson Ceilidh band in the Ceilidh Room. The Orcadian Strip-the-Willow claimed one victim but Elgin A & E sorted him out. The Ceilidh Room also witnessed a totally crazy Karaoke Contest. The Dining Hall was the perfect venue for a 21 character Murder Mystery Dinner. The Arboretum and Lochans were a delight for a stroll before sunning ourselves in the sun-trap that is the front of the house. Everyone was delighted with their comfortable pretty bedrooms. It was a pleasure to wake to the lovely views across the paddocks each morning. Some evenings we lit the log fire in the Drawing room and sang round the piano. The kitchen was spacious enough for providing meals in a relaxed manner. The Teddies in the Snug were an immediate hit with the two little girls who claimed it as their room. Our favourite outing was the Rail Journey from Forres Station to Kyle of Lochalsh. The house was warm, friendly and welcoming. We all left full of happy memories of our family re-union.’
‘Burgie House was the perfect venue for my 60th Birthday party. 24 guests including my friends’ 18 month old girl and Dan, the Springer Spaniel, enjoyed the excellent facilities and also rambling round the beautiful grounds. With Elgin only minutes away, we had to take in some distillery visits. Beach trips for some and trout fishing for others filled in our visit. On our last day, 10 of the party had the most excellent day out clay-pigeon shooting, all of us 1st timers but definitely an addictive pastime. Burgie definitely was the most perfect place to live for a week and enjoyed by all.’
