Courses within easy access from Burgie include;

FORRES GOLF CLUB (5 miles): Designed by former Open Championship winners James Braid and Willie Park the Par 70 course provides a good test for golfers of all abilities. Well known for its spectacular views over Findhorn Bay and the Moray Firth, Forres Golf Club is a beautifully maintained and picturesque course that will satisfy all who play it (www.forresgolfclub.co.uk)

NAIRN GOLF CLUB (14 miles): This championship course is found nestling on the shores of the Moray Firth having been created from a highland wilderness of gorse and heather, and it can test the tales of both the professional and amateur player. Considered to be one of Scotland’s finest courses it has previously hosted The Walker Cup and The Curtis Cup (www.nairngolfclub.co.uk)

CASTLE STUART (20 miles): Another championship course overlooking the Moray Firth, Castle Stuart has been conceived to be for the Highlands as Gleneagles is to Perthshire –as a beacon reaching out to golfers across the globe (www.castlestuartgolf.com)

MORAY GOLF CLUB (12 miles): Boasting two courses the Championship Old Course is considered to be one of the finest links courses in Scotland. Designed by old Tom Morris with deep riveted bunkers, undulating gorse lined fairways and smooth fast greens it is a superb test of golf with seven par fours over 400 yards. The New course has smaller greens than the Old, with the preference for precision golf over this shorter and tighter course making it equally as challenging (www.moraygolf.co.uk)

ELGIN GOLF CLUB (9 miles): This is a testing heathland course in immaculate condition, measuring 6401 yards with a par of 69 and a standard scratch of 71, fully justifying its claim to be one of the finest inland courses in the northern part of Scotland, and testing handicaps both high and low (www.elgingolfclub.co.uk)
