THE ARBORETUM
Set in over 60 acres of established woodland, Hamish Lochore has over
the past 7 years cleared significant areas and begun the creation of
the Burgie Arboretum.
With trees, flowers and shrubs from all around the world, grown from hand picked seeds from their native countries and propagated in the Burgie greenhouse there is an abundance of rare and beautiful plants as well as many native trees.
Red squirrels nest and a number of different species of ducks live on and around the 1 ½ acre lochan that sits just 150 meters from the house. With winding paths through this beautiful and extensive undulating woodland, it is a lovely way to spend an afternoon whether painting, walking, watching or with the dogs.
